September 27th, 2021 | Newbie gains

Really into swimming these last few days.

Trying to hit the triathlon distance of 2km.

Initially, I thought it would be easy.

"2km? Come on, I have ran a marathon. And I regularly run 10km and it's so easy."

Around a week ago I went to the sea to give it a try.

The beach here is coincidentally exactly 2km from end to end.

I start from the one end of the beach and I'm ready to see how far I can go.

I'm curious.

And... 150 meters was all I could do.

What the fuck man. Swimming is hard.

I went back home and started researching online.

"Ok, I'm doing every basic mistake in the world."

Corrected my swimming technique. Ordered better swimming trunks and goggles. Saw a fuckton of youtube videos on triathlons and open water swimming.

This was my progression over the last week:
- 150 meters
- 200 meters
- 200 meters
- 300 meters
- 1,000 meters

Seems like I'm making newbie gains!
